Duties:
¨ Develop, unit test, and integrate java code with other modules to deliver quality code.
¨ Liaison with Quality Assurance Team throughout test cycles to ensure quality development projects.
¨ Review, recommend, and improve the application architecture, design, development, integration and deployment of processes and activities.
¨ Ensure sound design/development practices for all large scale J2EE based projects and review application designs and make recommendations.
¨ Work with business teams to clarify application development and testing requirements, perform system configuration management services including source code repository management.
¨ Work with the development team to guide application design, integration, and testing to fit application development architecture.
¨ Perform peer code reviews and audit – Analyze existing code and remediate performance issues within existing applications.
¨ Leverage J2EE framework to meet business-defined requirements and processes
¨ Provide technical recommendations and support of application and infrastructure projects requiring J2EE web application technology.
¨ Identify, recommend, and/or develop code modifications or applications to support the business requirements.
¨ Train and mentor team members as needed.
¨ Provide a positive example of professionalism and exceptional work ethics to MIS personnel and throughout the corporation.
¨ Maintain and enforce MIS standards that will ensure the integrity of the system and the most efficient utilization of MIS personnel.
¨ Maintain cohesive working relationship with all areas of the corporation.
¨ Perform other duties as required

Responsibility and Decision Making Authority
¨ Determine project assignment sequence based on corporate priorities set by senior staff, MIS, and requesting users.
¨ Recommend alternatives and/or improvements to user requests to more effectively utilize company resources.
¨ Recognize opportunities for more effective operation and review with users to facilitate generation of a project request to perform a service.
¨ Assign projects to individual programmers based on current workload, project priority, or programmer’s area of expertise.

Educational/Experience Required
¨ Bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
¨ 8+ years J2EE application design and development experience
¨ 4+ years in Enterprise web development
¨ Experience with J2EE application architecture, design, development and programming tools and source control
¨ Excellent experience Web Service and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), XML, DHTML, JavaScript, PHP and WSDL
¨ JSF knowledge, 4+ years a plus
¨ RPG experience a plus but not required
¨ 3+ year Springs framework experience
¨ 3+ years Hibernate experience
¨ Familiarity with Tomcat/Websphere and other J2EE containers
¨ Change management tool experience
¨ System I background a plus
¨ Exceptional oral and written communication skills, especially those relating to the expression of technical terms to non-technical personnel.
¨ Strong interpersonal, organizational and planning skills.
¨ Training and/or experience in project management, user relations and information gathering techniques.
¨ Commitment to being service-oriented towards coworkers and users.
